"I don't want to live in a world where there's no privacy, and therefore no room for intellectual exploration and creativity."
~ Edward Snowden
My name is Larry and welcome to my website. I am a privacy and security advocate who hopes to help others achieve additional layers of both, or at least help you become a little more mindful of how you're putting your privacy and security at risk as you use various technologies in your everyday life.

Privacy is important. Consider using these apps and websites for added layers of privacy:

For those who take privacy a bit more seriously, there is always something else we could be doing to achieve more of it. Consider what it takes to remove the culprits/companies who collect the most data about us from our lives. The four biggest offenders that I am aware of are:

Other than limiting your use of services provided by these companies and their subsidiaries, you would do well to remove the Microsoft, Google Chrome, or Apple OS from your devices (laptops, desktop computers, cell phones, and tablets) in favor of Linux for privacy concerns. Personally, I have replaced Microsoft Windows 11 by installing Kali Linux as the sole OS on my primary laptop. With Kali installed on the hardware (not just a virtual machine (VM)), I regularly use TAILS Linux from a USB thumbdrive for the amnesia benefit/feature it provides. If you possess the required hardware and technical know-how, consider using the most secure OS available: Qubes.

There are so many additional rabbit holes one could go down to achieve more privacy. I will leave you with the recommendation of a wonderful book. I have no doubt this author will quell the concerns of the strictest demands for privacy. Please consider reading, Extreme Privacy, by Michael Bazzell. As of this writing (Aug 2024), the fifth edition was his latest offering.
